The HT-AS710 is also has a sleek black casing, which is mainly designed to match the Samsung's 2006 DVD players. With the HT-AS710's 750W power and Active Subwoofer, as well as industry leading features like XM-ready, 6.1 channel surround sound, and HDMI(High-Definition Multimedia Interface) switching, consumers may opt never to leave the living room and not to mention the affordability.

The HT-AS710 also is equipped with XM Satellite Radio-Ready(allows users to enjoy an enormous range of audio content in an immersive hi-fi environment) and HDMI switching. What differentiates the HT-AS710 from its little brother, HT-AS610 is, it includes 750W (100W x 6ch + 150W sub) to give a theater quality surround sound and a 6.1 channel surround sound, making it an excellent choice for home video/audio philes. The active subwoofer serves up deep, resonant sub bass response transforming action movies into sensory-filled extravaganzas. It also comes with Anynet Interface, a technology where users can control other Anynet-enabled Samsung home theater equipment for a more connected home theater experience. Certainly this feature is observed in most Home Theater systems, but at such an affordable price, there are very few of them.
The StewartMedia looks really like a flat-panel display but its a projection screen coupled with integrated speakers. What differs StewartMedia from a plasma screen is that it is more durable and no burn-in and lasts for a life time provided a proper care is taken and also not to mention, the cost effectiveness when compared to Plasma displays.

The StewartMedia is made of a Firehawk material, mainly designed to environments where there is a lot of ambient light. It is available in both front and rear-projection models and can be mounted either on a wall or on a stand. The integrated speakers, based on Rim-Fire technology has a frequency responce of 500 hertz to 30 kilohertz. Whether its a HDTV broadcast or films on DVD or any other sports programme, the Stewart Media gives a thrilling experience and provides a stunning picture quality.
Marantz, a household name in advanced high-quality home theatre systems, has announced the launch of its new home entertainment solution, the ZR6001SP. The ZR6001SP marks the debut of Marantz's DAvED multi-zone audio distribution technology. Now DAvED stands for Digital Audio via Electrical Distribution - a mechanism through which digital audio signals can be transmitted over existing AC power lines! Awesome!

The Marantz ZR6001SP includes the ZR6001 Audio/Video receiver and the ZC4001 Client. Using these three components consumers can very easily set up a multiple room digital audio distribution system at their homes (using DAvED of course).

This is how a typical setup would look like:

The Marantz ZR6001 is a high-performance home theater receiver that features:

7 channels of discrete amplification

HD component video switching

Component or S-video up-conversion

32-bit DSP processing

192kHz/24-bit digital/audio converters for all channels

It delivers 90 watts of power into each of its seven main channels. In addition, Marantz’s new DAvED technology means owners of the ZR6001 can not only use their receiver as the centerpiece of their main home entertainment system, but they can also enjoy virtual wireless audio transmission to any room in the house by just plugging it into any wall socket and having the audio signals transmitted directly to one or more ZC4001 Clients.

With the Marantz ZC4001 Client you can enjoy CD-quality audio in any room inside your house. You can connect up to six such units to the main ZR6001 receiver. It has two high-performance loudspeakers and a built-in amplifier for some great sound. It's finished in light silver cosmetic with an elegant brown trim. It's quite portable too. The remote control provides bi-directional communication, allowing users to control tuners, CD players and other components connected to the ZR6001.

The Marantz ZR6001SP system, including both the ZR6001 receiver and ZC4001 Client, will be available in Spring 2006 at a suggested retail price of US$1,299.99. Additional ZC4001 units will be available at US$329.99 each.

Sounds like a great buy to me.

Samsung unveiled three new HD DVD models. We have already reviewed the two lower end models DVD-HD860 and DVD-HD960. Samsung's DVD-HD1080 is an SACD/DVD Audio compatible DVD player. The DVD-HD1080 is the top end model among the three. It up-converts a DVD's native resolution (480p) to output close to high-definition formats (720p/1080i/1080p). As the upconversion process occurs in the digital domain, no data is lost (compared with analogue conversion) and the resulting image is close to pristine.

The DVD-HD1080 boasts of a 5.1ch DVD Audio / SACD support via its HDMI output and true HD 1080p progressive output for simple cable connection of uncompressed digital vedio. It also features the Faroudja FLI-2310 chip which substantially eliminates jagged edges that appear when standard interlaced video is viewed on progressive-scan displays. So this helps in producing a natural picture and clear picture by the way of DCDi. It also comes with a new Jog-shuttle control, for improving the ease of navigation within the DVD's content. The DVD-HD1080 is the cream of Samsung's DVD player crop.

The DVD-HD1080 is available in MAY 2006 at $249 MAP. For more info log on to Samsung's Website

It is mainly targeted at the HDTV owners. As we all know about the HDTV boom that is going on in the market, the DVD-V9650 will defnitely send some vibes, as it has an additional player in VHS.
