Hitachi Ships World's Speediest Notebook Hard Drive With Encryption Technology

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies has recently announced shipment of the industry’s highest-capacity, highest-performing notebook hard drive. The 200GB 7200 RPM TravelStar 7K200 offers twice the capacity and 22% improvement in performance from is predecessor. Additionally the HDD offers optional hard-drive level “Bulk Data Encyption” technology.

Dell and Alienware systems will be the first to offer this high performing Travelstar 7K200. It is currently available immediately on Dell XPS notebooks and all Alienware notebooks. For users who demand the highest capacity available on a mobile system can make use of dual HDD configurations, offering a total of 400GB storage space, on the Aurora m9700 and XPS M2010.
