Hitachi just released a new “smart TV”. To start, it comes with an integrated iVDR removable storage module — a portable storage format used almost exclusively in Japan. On top of that, they configured the TV with a 250GB IVDR-S, the IVDR-S disc’s can then be loaded onto compatible bays on your video recorder, PC, or camcorder, for easy transfer and viewing of your media.
The screen is a 50″ P50-XR01 Full HD ALIS plasma and 37-inch L37-XR01 Full HD IPS LCD, offering 1080p resolution. The top end P50 plasma is expected by mid-May for around $4,840 while the L32 LCD is expected to pop on April 20th for about $2,123. Unfortunately, the sets are only available in Japan.
