google-maps-androidGood news for the users of Google Maps that own an Android cellphone, because there was a new version released today, more specifically version 4.4.

The changes in version 4.4 of Google Maps for Android are basically related to the Places tool – it is now a separate feature and has its own icon on the main menu. In case you don’t know, Places is a tool of Google Maps which makes it easy to search for business spots and other POIs, and in this case of the Android it has a search bar and the ability to “read” the query made by the voice of user. Google Maps (mobile) version 4.4 works with Android handsets running version 1.6 and higher.
