Google Maps adds bicycle directionsBy Tony - 03/11/2010 7:07:14 PM |
If you are a hardcore user of Google Maps and also use the bicycle a lot, there are good news because Google has added a new feature which can be summed up as bicycling directions. Obviously the possible directions are divided into groups so users can know which one is the most bike-friendly route.
In order to make and tag all the streets Google had to work in cooperation with the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy which provided information about more than 150 US cities. While the new feature is only available to the desktop version of Google, they have plans to release it to other Google Maps versions as well, like the mobile one.
