Google is not wasting any time. As long as people are searching for stuff online, Google will make money off it. The company has launched its AdWords version for mobile phones. Now you can target mobile owners with specific ads. They will be available from your usual AdWords dashboard where you will simply have to specify who are you targeting: mobile users, desktop users or both.
These mobile ads will be available for both G1 and the iPhone but not only. Any smartphone with a full HTML will be able to display the ads. Check out the video for more instructions.
