Google Favicon
Little did I know that Google changed their favicon to make it more iPhone and “other mobile devices” friendly.

Here’s what Marissa Mayer says on the Google Blog:

The reason is that we wanted to develop a set of icons that would scale better to some new platforms like the iPhone and other mobile devices. So the new favicon is one of those, but we’ve also developed a group of logo-based icons that all hang together as a unified set.

I like the “other mobile devices” part. What other devices? Am I to understand they switched their worldwide known favicon, the “G” capital leter, to their new favicon the “g”. When I first saw it I asked myself what that 8 is. After realizing it’s a “g” I simply assumed that Google needs a facelift. After all they are turning 80 60 35 10 soon!

So there you have it, even the all mighty Google gets ready for the iPhone, craving for a share of all that money spinning around Apple’s hottest, dare I say, creation yet
