Garmin quietly releases two nuvis with pre-loaded maps of MexicoBy Paul Briggs - 08/20/2008 10:47:11 PM |
With all the hype going to the newly released iPhone 3G, news and development of other mobile (and more useful) devices have been overshadowed. Garmin quietly released two new nuvi models with preloaded maps of Mexico. This is perfect for those who wants to have their vacations down south.
The Garmin nuvi 200 Mexico includes pre-loaded maps of the lower 48 states, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Mexico, but does not include a text-to-speech function while the Garmin nuvi 260W Mexico includes everything plus a text-to-speech function.
Units sold in the U.S. are bi-lingual so, you don’t have to worry about translations and misunderstandings. The Mexican maps use NAVTEQ data, and are the same ones that you find with City Navigator Mexico NT, which have around 12,000 points of interest.
