A phone from Garmin like the Nuvifone is surely a challenge. Unfortunately we’ll be unable to see a Nuvifone this year as it has been postponed to 2009 during Garmin’s latest quarterly conference call.

Apparently carriers have had quite a few demands which were added to the handset, and this whole process is actually taking longer than expected.

The Nuvifone, is seen as a potential iPhone competitor and I’d rather see it launched later but better than whatever version they might have ready now. But while the Nuvifone is being developed, other makers are improving their own smartphones. Hopefully by the time it comes officially out, it won’t be already outdated.
