24 Jan 09 G1 to be Available Everywhere Starting Tomorrow

The G1 was launched at first only in 3G markets in the USA. Too bad for those T-Mobile customers who didn’t have a 3G signal from T-Mobile yet. In the mean time T-Mobile has managed to get its hands on enough G1 stock to go around. And therefore all the other non-3G T-Mobile markets will get the G1 starting tomorrow. The G1 will be available everywhere there’s a T-Mobile store or a T-Mobile affiliate, but don’t expect 3G coverage everywhere too. You’ll just have to make do with that EDGE connection you currently have.

Besides fixing bugs and increasing system stability, it will also “include new system enhancements such as the ability to save pictures or files to file by long-pressing an item, check for system updates, and use the Google Voice Search feature.” There’s no trace of Cupcake in this build but don’t loose faith just yet! A future firmware might bring it over. [...]
