G-Technology Debuts World's First 500GB 2.5 Inch Portable External Drive
G-Technology, manufacturer of computer peripherals especially for Apple Macs, is unveiling the new G-DRIVE mini Triple 500 in this year's MacWorld convention. The G-DRIVE mini Triple 500 is the first ultra-portable and, at less than 10 ounces, lightweight storage device. It features FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 connections. The device is Time Machine ready and is HFS+ formatted. Using Mac OS X, a feature called "journaling" is possible. Basically, the device keeps a journal of your files while you work so if something happens to your computer while working, the G-DRIVE mini Triple 500 can restore the computer to its previously known good state. The G-DRIVE mini Triple 500 will be available starting March 2008. No retail price has been set yet.
