With the SMS disable option you will be able to send a tiny SMS message which will disable your laptop. In order to set it up you need to also get a data plan and get a WAN card but it should be all worth it. The process is reversible in case you misplace your laptop but think it was stolen.

There’s a minor major flaw with the whole concept. In case the thief removes the SIM card from the laptop your hole SMS disable plan won’t work at all.
