Freescale Semiconductor looks good, and cheap. See you at CES 2010?By Mark Rollins - 01/04/2010 3:29:04 AM |
About two years ago, we reported on the Freescale Conductor, the “motherboard on a chip” PC, or Lime PC. It appears that this vaporware has finally become solid, at least at the beginning stages.
Right now, the smartbook tablet is slated to weigh about 0.8 pounds, have a 1GHz i.MX515 processor, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, micro SD slot, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, USB 2.0, 3 megapixel camera, all with a 1024 x 600 touch panel configuration. That is a lot to pack in one device, and this one is predicted to have a price of $200. Whoa, that seems a little low. Maybe they’ll have something to show us at CES 2010.
