Free Windows Phone 7 Handsets Going to Microsoft Interns, Too

By Jeff Baker - 07/29/2010 5:24:05 AM

About a week ago we let you know that Microsoft would be handing out free Windows Phone 7 powered handsets to all of their employees. This would be in an attempt to market the phone as all of these employees would tell their friends and family who would then tell their friends and so on and so forth. However, it looks like the deal is about to get a bit sweeter as reports have just surfaced that say Microsoft will be giving free Windows Phone 7 handsets to their interns as well.

This information was brought to the front by a tipster who told Gizmodo that when asked if interns would also recieve the phones, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer responded with the following:

“Recruiting doesn’t have the budget, but I do. So, Yes!…”

Let’s hope this internal marketing works or Microsoft is going to have wasted a lot of money.

I wonder if these employees will get to choose which phones they want.
