Free version of Ovi Maps = 1 million downloads in first week

ovi_maps1Looks like Nokia has made a good move by providing a new version of the Ovi Maps application for free, because according to Nokia in only on week the application has been downloaded close to 1.4 million times.

In the words of Anssi Vanjoki from Nokia, they are averaging one download per second, every 24 hours.

Just for curiosity, the top 5 countries using the app, as of the 31st of January, were: China, Italy, UK, Germany and Spain. And the top 5 cellphones with the app installed: Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia N97, Nokia 5230 and Nokia E72.
