Did you ask Santa for a bigger screen for your future smartphone? Well it looks like some of Santa’s little elves are working at the Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute round the clock to offer us that larger screen. It will be a folding TFT-EPD screen or a Thin Film Transistor Electrophoretic Display. Wow that was hard to say all in one sentence.
The new technology will increase the screen size but your smartphone will keep its current size. That means you could end up playing with an up to 5-inch screen or even more. Prototypes are ready to be shown, so ITRI, go ahead and show them already! Or should we wait for 2009 smartphones?
