Flashback: 1980 vs. 2010

technology_then_nowI saw this pic today, and I just can’t help but wonder how far we’ve come in the last 30 years.

I can actually remember 1980, and some of the technology (like the Walkman and Watchman) didn’t exist then until a few years later, but I will say that an iPhone or iPod Touch can actually replace most of those eighties gadgets. I say “most” because the iPhone cannot function as a typewriter or printer, or whatever that is.

It isn’t the only device that can do that, of course, but I think it shows how much consumers need one device to control everything.
