Intel should get ready for some serious competition in the netbook industry. It looks like NVIDIA has confirmed that the first Ion-based netbooks will be unveiled in June at the Computex trade. Then the very first models available will be shipped as early as July. We’re curious to see who’s going to be the first to develop these new Ion-based netbooks but that’s still a mystery. Key players from the netbook business are going to be involved but we can’t name any names yet. Since Acer has launched its first Ion-based nettop, the AspireRevo, we can only assume that the company is secretly working on Ion netbooks too.
