Firefox Home App on the iPhone, iPod Touch

FirefoxHome_logoAs soon as I read that Firefox was coming to Apple products like the iPhone, I had hoped that my favorite Internet browser was finally going to be on my iPod Touch.

Unfortunately, Firefox is only preparing a program called Firefox Home, and it will need to submit it to the Powers That Be at the App Store Approval. Firefox Home is a window into Firefox browsing rather than a browser, and relies on Firefox Sync, to “securely sync your desktop bookmarks, history, and open tabs across Firefox browsers on desktops, mobile phones, and tablets. You’ll be able to view recent Web sites directly from Firefox Home via a WebKit viewer or by opening your previously visited Web pages in the default Safari browser”.

So yeah, it isn’t Firefox on your iPhone/iPod Touch. Opera is pretty good for that, though. We will see what becomes of this.
