Falcom Mambo Bluetooth GPS Receiver
Check out this neat new Bluetooth GPS receiver from Falcom. It's called the Mambo, and uses a 20 channel SiRFStar III receiver. It can be used as a basic GPS device, and has tri-band GSM/GPRS mobile phone connectivity. However, the Mambo also features a panic button, which once pressed, will send your geographic coordinates through either a phone call or SMS message to a pre-programmed phone number or email address.
The panic button could be handy for those unfortunately dangerous situations we sometimes find ourselves in, such as in the case of injury, violence, or illness. It also could be used to get out of those awful blind dates. No need to sneak off to the bathroom to make that call to your friend. Just press the panic button and your buddy will know to call you back with an "emergency" call to get you out of your date.
An updated version of the Mambo, Mambo2, is set to be released late this year, and is rumored to include a display (which is something lacking on this model).
