Eco-Friendly Blu-ray Player from SonyBy Chris - 07/20/2008 4:46:56 PM |

Sony’s new Blu-ray player is the BDP-S350. It was announced back in February but it hasn’t been available in the mean time. The BDP-S350 features BonusView and BD-Live. Sony’s Precision Camera HD Upscale feature converts standard-definition signals to full HD signals to any connected TV through the HDMI port. The player is compatible with various disk formats: BD-R/RE, DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, CD, CD-R/RW and JPEG or DVD/CD.
The player features an Ethernet port and it will handle up to 70.1 channels decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DD+ and 7.1 channels bitstream output with DTS-Ma.
So how is it eco-friendly? Sony made the BDP-S350 55% smaller and they reduced the packaging material by 52% and its weight by 38% thus reducing overall CO2 emissions. As for the energy consumption, the BDP-S350 is said to consume a little less.
With all those details, you just have to know the final price. The newest Sony Blu-ray player will cost $399.99
