Garmin also announces the entry-level nuvi 200 series GPS navigation device. The new 200 series offers the benefit of a premium GPS system at a much lower price. The ultra-slim devices use an internal GPS antenna that makes it even easier to mount in a car. The welcome screen allows users to quickly and easily find specific places or search for a destination. Turn-by-turn, voice-prompted directions are provided to keep the users eyes on the road. Even if a turn is missed the nuvi device automatically fixes the route to get the user back to where they are going.

The 200-series features built-in picture viewer, calculator, currency converter, unit converter and world clock. They are also compatible with applications such as the Garmin Travel Guide and Garmin SaversGuide. Users can lock the device with a four digit pin to deny access to the unit until the correct password has been given.

the nuvi 200 series have a bright 3.5 inch touchscreen display and has an expandable SD memory card slot. The nuvi 200/250/270 are expected to be available in April at retail price $399.99-$599.99, depending on the specific model.
