DXG isn’t one of the first camcorder manufacturers I wake up thinking about. Actually I don’t think about any of them, but you get my point. However, if you are the kind of person that takes home video seriously you should check this one out. Their new DXG-567V, boy do I hate these names, retails for $179 and it’s said to upload videos straight to YouTube and other similar sites.

The DXG-567V is available in four different colors and it will ship with rechargeable batteries. It will record videos at 30fps or 1280×720 resolution which isn’t bad at all. And the price seems to be a real bargain, but it also makes me want to know if I have to buy 2 or 3 at a time, you know, just to make sure I have a spare in case one of them cracks.

Besides the camera itself you get the Rapid Blog Manager software, which is the brain that sends all those videos to YouTube. All you need is a computer with internet access. Connect the DXG via USB and let the automatic software do its uploading business. And there’s more. With the ArcSoft TotalMedia™ Extreme software which usually sells for $99, but will be included for free, you will be able to create, edit and watch videos like a pro. Suddenly I feel assured that the DXG might actually be a recommendable product after all.
