DriveAssist software limits cellphone usage when driving

Aegist Mobility created a new software called DriveAssist, which will help many drivers that have the bad habit of talking and driving at the same time. The working system of DriveAssist can be viewed as too controlling, but in the end it is the driver that wins.

Basically this piece of software blocks incoming calls, after checking if the cellphone is on movement at car speeds. How can it recognize you’re inside a car? Because it works with GPS systems.

Thankfully, DriveAssist doesn’t have full control of your cellphone because you can pick specific numbers that won’t be blocked, and additionally the car passengers can bypass the system. As for the text messages, those will be delivered once the car stops.

Important features:

- Multiple user options are supported via the interactive voice response “personal agent”
- Outbound calls and text messages are disallowed

- 911 always allowed
- Automatic initiation of service
