Windows Mobile 6.5 has just been officially announced and Microsoft is already cooking up updates. We knew well ahead of the actual roll out that the new Microsoft mobile OS was not as impressive as people wished for it to be. After all, even Microsoft is looking forward to Windows Mobile 7, so why should we bother ourselves with Windows Mobile 6.5 in the mean time?
Windows Mobile 6.5 is not exactly a disappointment but it’s a mobile OS that needs more work. That’s why Microsoft has come up with Windows Mobile 6.5.1. The update isn’t official yet but you can find it on various forums already. The update is supposed to tweak the UI and make it more touch-friendly in order to improve your overall Windows Mobile 6.5 experience. In case your Windows Phone plays nice and you’re not having any problems dealing with menus or any other features of the user interface then maybe you don’t need this update after all. Microsoft is planning to launch Windows Mobile 6.5.1 in January 2010 only, which gives you plenty of time to discover any bugs that could use some sort of fixing.
So how do you find Windows Mobile 6.5 so far?

Just recieved the HTC Touch 2 mobile with Windows 6.5.
It is nor a bad operating system, but has a few flaws.
My main one is email. You set up your account which i struggled with for days to get to work on this phone, eventually have no idea what i did, but emails started arriving in my Inbox.
Great i thought a few hours later they stopped arriving, strange i thought, so went through the settings again and my user account settings had change to the first 6 digets of my email address, so i put them back in. away we went again. same happened again and again, also when i receive email i have set it to retain them in my Inbox, but it goes and deletes them.
This is very annoying anyone else had the same problems.

i want to get the windows 6.5 do ya know a site?
I have a touch 2 and occasionally cant close the contacts screen. So i have to reboot the phone.
I have the HTC Pure from AT&T and my biggest complaints about the OS are not so much Windows Mobile issues as they are AT&T issues. The 3G network works about 50% of the time and its deathly slow. The wi-fi doesn’t work much at all for data as an alternative to the 3G. The Touch Flow 3D interface is nice but could use some serious work on its linking. There are 3 different contact managers, hitting reply from a text can sometimes take you to the windows mobile text center which is aweful, and the homepage is not customizable. I wish I could lock from the main screen, switch to vibrate easier, and the theme color sometimes just revert to some default when I do not choose it. There is lots of work to do and I might upgrade to 7 when it comes out next year.
