You may be thinking that it would me more of a pain unfolding the guitar, instead of carrying around that large guitar case around on the buses, subways, bikes, etc. The process of folding/unfolding the guitar is actually quite simple and doesn't require taking off the strings!
After releasing the string tension via a knob on the guitar, simply unscrew the neck and gently fold/unfold the guitar. Im sure you would also be surprised to hear that the guitar will be just as tuned as when it was folded away.
