I think you should hurry and get that Dell laptop packed with Windows XP you wanted. Microsoft is going to discontinue XP while trying to shove Vista down our throats. I have nothing against that, after all Microsoft stands for monopoly right? But for God’s sake please make an OS that won’t crash and slow me down. How many times did you say that? How many times did Windows made your PC life miserable?
Dell announced last week that they are going to follow Microsoft’s policy and discontinue selling Windows XP with their system. June 18th has been the last day when you could have bought an XP Dell PC. After that they announced how they’ve worked out a deal with Micro. If you still want XP you can get it as long as you pay $50 for the upgrade and get a Vista copy too. On selected systems. Not that bad a deal.
And now we found out they have extended the 18th deadline. It’s turned into June 26th now. That means that you can still buy some PCs with XP for 5 more days or so, without paying anything extra. You’ll have a limited offer of PC to choose from so this deadline extension might not work but you can still give it a shot.
