DataWind PocketSurfer2 launch details

|

The DataWind PocketSurfer2 handheld device that we already mentioned back in February has been officially announced with details about the launch date and price. As the name - PocketSurfer - suggests, it is a device that provides access to the internet (surfer) and is so small you can put it in your pocket. It only weighs 174 grams and the small dimensions are 152x75x15mm.

The VGA color screen offers a 640x240 resolution and has a good feature that makes all the content easier to read - the transreflective backlight. The keyboard is obviously on the QWERTY category and the battery life is 5 hours while being used, or 5 hours on standby mode. Other features for the internet connectivity include a GPRS modem + SIM card and location information via the GPS system.

The PocketSurfer2 will cost approximately ?180 (close to $379) and become available during the month of August. Pre-orders will be available at Amazon starting on July 25th.
