Core i3 and i5 processors on January 7th

Earlier this month we let you know that rumors were circulating over a MacBook Pro refresh which would include Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processors. However at that point Intel didn’t even officially confirm that i5′s existence.

Today, Intel has come forth to announce that that brand new, Core i3 and Core i5 processors will hit the market on January 7th. But what does this mean for you?

Well, laptop users will be happy to hear that these chips have a decent cock speed while sipping battery life. Powerful yet energy efficient? Count me in.
