Tangent 17-inch LCD PC

Tangent announced the new VITA, an all-in-one flat panel touch screen LCD PC, offering to lower power consumption and save space on your desk. The design has been created keeping in mind the requirements of a range of users: from IT pros to doctors, dentists and health care workers, fitting in ergonomically in their offices. The VITA comes with a cordless mouse and keyboard, built-in speakers and additionally, Wi-Fi capability.

From the viewpoint of health-care industry, Tangent felt the need to introduce a touch screen, given that it is more convenient and provides a far more user-friendly access to busy healthcare professionals. The display also has a tilt range of -5 to +25 degrees, providing ample viewing comfort.

While a PC with CRT monitor consumes nearly 500W of power, the VITA consumes just around 260W. Powered by a 3.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, the VITA comes with a 17" SXGA LCD display, DVD/CD-RW player, 512 MB of memory, 120 GB SATA hard drive and integrated stereo speakers and is pre-installed with Microsoft Windows XP Professional.

It is priced at $1,495, or $1,555 with WiFi 802.11b/g wireless LAN installed, and can be purchased direct from Tangent's website.
