Sony VGC-RC102 Desktop PC
Sony unveiled the new VAIO VGC-RC102 Home Server, bringing in ample amounts of computing power to the home user's desktop. From high-definition (HD) video editing to Super Audio CD (SA-CD) quality sound, the RC102 is geared up to take over as a mastering system.
The center of all of this is the VGP-MR100E Network Media Receiver that comes with a dedicated remote controller. The Media Receiver allows you to find and view video content on your telly, as well as music collections on your PC - all via the TV interface.
Running a professional studio with this kind of setup should be a breeze, what with the RC102 being bundled with a sophiscticated set of HD editing tools. With Europe gaining momentum to go digital, the VAIO is well poised for a win there, because of its ability to view HD format home movies, images and HD movies.
Based on the latest 2.8GHz Intel® Pentium® D Processor 820, the RC102 is a speed-demon. This, coupled with NVIDIA® GeForce™ 6600 for graphics on a PCI Express 16X bus provides for hardcore gaming apart from the video editing features.
