SyncMaster 970P Combines Design Beauty With Top-Notch Performance and Functionality
Irvine, CA - Samsung, the world’s leading manufacturer of TFT computer monitors and professional displays, continues to raise the bar on groundbreaking LCD monitor technology with the introduction of the elegant SyncMaster™ 970P display. The SyncMaster 970P is a high-end dual interface 19-inch monitor that is built and designed for performance. Designed for home and business users, the 970P incorporates Samsung’s MagicTune™ software, which makes adjustments to the monitor a truly hands-free experience. The monitor also features several proprietary Samsung technologies for optimized performance including MagicStand™, MagicRotation™, MagicSpeed™, MagicBright II™, MagicColor™, MagicContrast™ and MagicZone™ technologies.

The SyncMaster 970P features several unique Samsung technologies to maximize image performance and user functionality. Samsung’s MagicTune technology enables users to have full control over all display features with extensive color adjustment capability per an individual’s personal viewing criteria. This produces the best front of screen performance for the optimal personalized viewing experience. MagicTune allows users the ability to save the various personalized display profiles for whatever environment or mode the user is in. MagicTune lets users change the monitor’s various settings with a simple click of a mouse. All of this functionality is completed with no additional cable or interface: all MagicTune communication is completed through the video cable.

For unsurpassed ergonomic functionality, the SyncMaster 970P utilizes Samsung’s MagicStand, an innovative four-way, triple-hinge adjustable stand that offers pivot ability, height adjustment, tilt and swivel capabilities. The display also incorporates Samsung’s MagicRotation, an automatic pivot feature that instantly tracks the display’s new orientation when users shift the screen from portrait to landscape for greater visibility of documents, Web pages and e-mail communications.

Samsung’s MagicSpeed technology ensures the SyncMaster 970P offers an ultra-fast six-millisecond response time (gray to gray), making the monitor ideal for computer gaming and multimedia-driven applications such as streaming video. A faster response time ensures better performance of motion video, and produces smoother edges, clearer images and a more natural image response. Response time is a critical factor that users should consider when purchasing an LCD monitor.

The 970P also includes Samsung’s MagicBright II technology, which allows users to select the proper optimized setting of brightness, contrast and gamma correction for the type of media being displayed. The user can select one of the following five modes: Game, Movie, Sports, Internet or Text. With the push of a button, the end user can improve the image clarity of the specific type of media being displayed. The monitor also utilizes Samsung’s MagicColor technology, which selectively enhances color automatically for the areas that need color correction. For example, MagicColor allows users to remove the unwanted glare of an image and bring back the natural color appearances automatically.

The full-featured SyncMaster 970P also employs Samsung’s MagicContrast and MagicZone technologies. MagicContrast offers a high 1000:1 contrast ratio and an extra-wide 178-degree viewing angle that’s ideal for providing detailed onscreen images when viewing on and off-axis. Contrast ratio is the measurement of the difference in light intensity between the brightest white and the blackest black. With its high 1000:1 contrast ratio, the 970P offers greater legibility when reading or viewing content on the monitor’s screen. MagicZone allows the user to select any area of the screen and change its characteristics. MagicZone parallels the On Screen Display function for the specified window, enabling users to alter the contrast, brightness, color and sharpness within the selected window.

Offered in an elegant silver and white colored cabinet, the SyncMaster 970P incorporates the company’s proprietary Patterned Vertical Alignment (PVA), the latest technology advancement in liquid crystal cell structure for improved viewing. The monitor features a fine pixel pitch of 0.294mm and a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024. The 970P also allows users the option of using a digital or analog interface for viewing images and text delivering a maximum of 16.7 million colors.
