Gateway FPD2185W 21-inch LCD Monitor
Gateway unveiled the new FPD2185W 21" High Definition widescreen display with DCDi (Directional Correlation Deinterlacing) delivering superior visuals. It also happens to be the first monitor to integrate a new Genesis Microchip.
The FPD2185W LCD flat panel monitor is guaranteed to be a boon to specialized appliactions such as CAD/CAM designers, graphic artists, photographers and of course gamers. With widescreen aspect ratio of 1680x1050, consumers get additional viewing space. The icing on the cake has definitely got to be the inclusion of DCDi, previously banished to the annuls of high-end home theater systems. DCDi technology by Faroudja vastly improves the display, making it sharper and crisper. The monitor is also compatible with cable and satellite HD video services.
Guys, stop drooling. There's more.
Combined with enhanced viewing, the FPD2185W comes with innovative screen rotating technologies, Gateway's EzTune software allows the user to seamlessly switch between landscape and portrait display modes. With PIP (Picture-in-Picture), a user can watch the telly while working on a computer application in parallel. Now there's a feature you thought you wouldn't use.
Priced at $599.99, the Gateway FPD2185W is available online from Gateway's website.

I just got the Gateway FPD2185W monitor as a replacement for a Viewsonic P220f that has a blown flyback. I have dual screen displays here and while looking at my 21" Trinitron versus this beastly thing by Gateway, all it does is make me want a second one.
I'm not sure if I like it best in Portrait mode or Landscape mode - I keep switching back and forth just cuz I can. The thing positively rocks. I looked at several 21" LCD displays, including a Samsung (and I have always been partial to Samsungs). The Gateway was cheaper than the Samsung and numerous others with less features.

This is simply the best monitor I have ever owned. There are not many if any reviews of it yet but watch out. Its Sharp, clear and user friendly (make sure to buy a DVI Cable )
As a gamer I have been very happy with this purchase. Just replaced my Viewsonic 19" which burned out with the 21" LCD Widescreen. Had that monitor not burned out I would not have found this little gem.
Bright, sharp, and clear. Heck I have seen more things in older games with this then I knew were there. Good buy for the price.
Cheers

if you're having driver problems, the only thing i can think of that MIGHT fix it is if you uninstall ALL nvidia drivers...restart comp...and then reinstall the latest version...and restart. do this entire process. should work after that. and ive also heard that the EzTune software has trouble running with some nvidia cads, though i can't be sure of this as i have not seen it myself. hope this helps. if not head over to the guys at anandtech forums. they'd be able to help you out.
here's a link to the thread where we are discussing this particular monitor. ive been searching the net for some good reviews of this monitor but can't seem to find any and i stumbled onto this place. so i figured why not give you guys some more info and see if it helps you guys with your possible future purchase.

I just purchased a Gateway GM5048 box, and the FPD2185W monitor. It has a Nvidia Geforce 6200 card, with analog cable. But I can't get it to reach the 1680 x 1050 resolution, and the automatic Pivot from landscape to portrait doesn'twork? HELP!! tks
