BEA Sets New Records With Sun Fire T1000 and T2000 Servers

BEA Systems set new world performance records with Sun's Sun Fire T1000 and T2000 servers. On the T2000, BEA Weblogic Server was 31% than a compatible 4-way 1.6GHz server, on the dual node SPECjAppServer2004.

BEA Weblogic Server 9.0 features hot swappable application technology which means there will be virtually no downtime for routine maintenance tasks. The core features of the system include security, management, clustering, caching and VM techniques, which make it highly scaleable. Apart from this, BEA JRockit 5.0 shows a 30% performance increase in the SPECjbb2005 JVM benchmark.

BEA announced promotional pricing for the new Sun servers. For more info, check out http://bea.com.

What does this mean? "On the T2000, BEA Weblogic Server was 31% than a compatible 4-way 1.6GHz server, on the dual node SPECjAppServer2004."

31% faster? 31% slower? compatible with what?

The world clearly knows that the Sun T1 based T1000 and T2000 offers best price/performance over any competing vendor server in the market place.

We need to understand better HOW much better it is - clearly explaining the results is VERY important.
