Apple Power Mac G5 Quad Desktop
Apple introduced the Power Mac G5 Quad, boasting two dual-core PowerPC processors and speeds up to 2.5GHz per core, effectively doubling the performance offered by its older avataar in dual-processor mode. That's four Velocity Engines and eight double-precision FPUs, delivering an amazing 76.6 gigaflops. What's more, the system comes with 512MB of 533MHz DDR2 RAM (max up to 16GB!) and integrated Gigabit Ethernet.With a new PCI Express architecture, you now have room for the latest and greatest expansion cards for video, DSP, Fibre Channel, among others.
Performance increase with the new G5 Quad is immense. The hard drive is a mammoth 250GB with SATA interface, while display is taken care by an NVIDIA GeForce 6600 with 256MB GDDR SDRAM.
