Computers Monitors of the FutureBy Mariella - 03/01/2007 4:05:47 PM |
Popular Science recently did a nice piece on some upcoming technological innovations, one of which was the transparent monitor. Universal Display Corporation of New Jersey, as well as other companies, are working on developing see-through conductive materials to replace the one last part that is still visible – the grid of circuits that delivers power to pixels. Otherwise, displays are already capable of 75% transparency when turned off. This is thanks to electroluminescent films known as organic light-emitting diodes (aka OLEDS). Doesn’t that sound neat?
