Coming Soon: The iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store

Yes you heard it right, very soon, six million songs will be available for download straight from your WiFi enabled iPod, there are two, the new iPod touch, and the iPhone through an update which will also be made available shortly.

Apple says it will all happen later this month. At a WiFi hotspot, from the iPOd itself you can can browse, search, preview, buy and instantly download music to your iPod or iPhone. And for the first time ever iTunes will transfer music from your iPod to iTunes, of course just the new music which you purchased.

The iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store works just like the ITMS we are so used to. Browse new releases, what's hot and just added lists. Preview a song for 30 seconds before deciding to buy. Its all tap and play. Tap and buy.

When the store is launched a new purple icon will appear in both the iPhone and the iPod touch. A lot of users, including myself having been waiting for this for quite a while and I'm really, really glad to see it happen.

I think this is one of the best news I've heard tonight.
