Chrome updates Google Voice extension

google_voice_chrome_extension_250x250A recent update on Google Chrome allows the user to make calls directly from an extension icon. Phone numbers that appear in the browser are all links, so it is a simple of matter of clicking to call.

Other features include adding a button to the toolbar to display the number of unread messages in the Google Voice Inbox, quick access to most recent messages (with transcripts), as well as initiating calls and text messages by just typing any number or contact name. One other feature is making phone numbers on websites callable via Google voice with just one click.

This sounds like something that I think many users could really use, and it is enough to make me a Chrome-boy and get this application right now.
