Chinese phone users sent over 429 billion text messages in 2006
I
t is being reported today that the Chinese in 2007 sent over 429 billion Text messages. SMS has been a huge success for carriers over the years and it is reported that now over 5% of a carriers revenue comes from SMS. SMS has evolved into not just text SMS text but also Video and Voice SMS recently. For some reason it seems that developing countries have embraced mobile tech and SMS alot more than 1st World Countries, which is a good sign for the carriers in thoughs countries for sure. And if you think China are the big shots in the industry well you'd be wrong, wait to you here about the "Worlds Biggest Demoracy" India, they are mobile phone crazy over there and are outstripping all other countries in growth for the sector, including China.
