China and India together now have one billion cellphone users

No surprises there, but considering that there were about 4 billion users worldwide when we checked last May and India and China’s combined 1.04 billion subscribers make up for almost 25% of that 4 billion, it is quite amazing, if you ignore the fact that these two countries are the most populated regions on earth.  The rest of the Asia Pacific countries aren’t far behind either with Indonesia, Japan, Pakistan, Philippines, Bangladesh, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam making the cut to the top 10, bringing the total Asia Pacific subscriber base up to a staggering figure of 1.68 billion.  Great news for us cellphone lovers indeed, but we are guessing the carriers have much more to rejoice, eh?
