|
Nokia Music Store

After the Nokia Music Store in Australia, Nokia opened its store for France. With a selection of over 2.5 million songs from French and international artists, Nokia is working with record companies for more hits to be included on the store front.

You can also sync music from a PC on other Xpress Music handsets like the Nokia 5610 and Nokia 5310, Nokia N82 and N95 8GB edition.

Music tracks can be purchased for €1.00, while full albums start at €10.00. A monthly subscription that allows users to stream unlimited music is also available at €10.00.

Visit the store at Nokia Music Store.

Nokia MD6 Speakers

Along with the Nokia XpressMusic 5320 and the Nokia 5220 XpressMusic phones, Nokia announced that its portable speaker MD series will get a new member. The Nokia Mini Speakers MD-8 (the one above is MD-6) features a pocket sized design.

Nokia claims that the new speaker will offer crisp stereo sound and feature enough battery life to support up to 40 hours of playtime on a single charge. The MD-8 speakers also come with an FM antenna to help you fine-tune to your desired radio station, along with a long cable.

The new speaker set will hit markets in Q2 2008. No word on the pricing yet.

Nokia XpressMusic 5320

Nokia is getting its hands dirty in the music business. If yesterday's announcement of the Nokia Music Store in Australia was not enough, the Finnish giant today unveiled the new Nokia 5320 XpressMusic mobile phone, with 3G capabilities and social entertainment - apart from the usual suspects like web 2.0 support. The phone has a new voice-controlled Say and Play feature where you can simply say the name of an artist or song to automatically play it.

The XpressMusic 5320 phone offers a 3.5mm audio jack, 8GB memory card support, hi-speed USB and even an audio chip specially for improving audio quality. Nokia claims up to 24 hours of playback time. There are also dedicated keys for N-Gage gaming, as well as landscape view for a wider game experience.

Expect the phone to hit the markets in Q3 2008. Priced at €220 before taxes and subsidies.

XpressMusic5220

While the 5320 XpressMusic looks poised to be the flagship model in Nokia's musicphone lineup, the 5220 XpressMusic seems destined to fill the low-end gap in the same line. Nokia aims to cater the budget-minded music aficionado with the 5220 but with an unusual and fancy-looking design, which it calls "symmetric." Other than the lanyard, there is also a much-welcomed 3.5mm audio jack and a semi-hi-fi audio chip that is also used in the 5320. The phone offers up a staggering 24 hours of nonstop playback, which is great for those long trips on the subway or just a lazy afternoon of soothing soul.

The 5220 XpressMusic phone is expected to retail at $255 and will be available in the third quarter of 2008.
