200px-Sprint_Nextel_logo.svg.pngSprint and Google have announced their partnership for integrating Google apps and services into Sprint's mobile services. Along with this deal, Google will now become Sprint's primary mobile search provider. This is a great news as this will make Internet experience for Sprint users much more dynamic. Of course, also with this deal, Google has taken another step towards the mobile market.

This service, as mentioned, will make Google become the default search provides for web search and local search (GPS-enabled) on the Sprint portal on customers' current web-enabled Sprint phones as well as new devices. Also, Google Maps for mobile will be featured in Sprint handsets and also allows YouTube to be accessible to Sprint users.

Deutsche Telekom is said to be the third carrier to enter an already difficult combination like Sprint taking over Nextel. This is just a rumor yet picked up from the German paper Die Spiegel. According to it Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile USA are preparing for such a merger. Official talks haven't started yet but we will be covering that too.

Can this be a successful formula for taking out the competition? Not only will the German company have to integrate their own services and promote them to Sprint's customers but they will also have to continue the integration of Nextel's users. That means mixing GSM, AWS, PCS, CDMA and iDEN. I wonder if it's worth it
