Asus unveiled its latest laptop, the new Asus Z37S, in China. Available in drool-worthy colors, Asus calls this "the assistant" (as far as our Chinese translation goes, of course). With a 13.3 inch display and unique briefcase-like design, the laptop features a unique combination of style and substance. Weighing in at less than 2 kilograms, the laptop is equipped with a Core 2 Duo T7500 processor.

The front side bus runs at 800MHz, and with 4GB of memory and a 256MB Nvidia GeForce 8400M video card, you get darn good video. The Z37S supports DirectX 10 as can be expected, and seems to be great for gaming as well.

The Z37S is available in two avataars:

Asus Z37K75S-SL, featuring 160GB hard drive, 2GB memory, Bluetooth, 802.11n and Windows Vista Home Premium priced at Yuan 10,588 (approx US $1,512)

Asus Z37K725E-SL, with 120GB hard drive, 1GB memory, 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth and Windows Vista Home Basic priced at Yuan 8,588 (approx US $1,227)

Five notebook PC's featured on CNET Asia's Top 5 Blu-ray notebooks articles, all sport NVIDIA's GeForce GPUs. This includes the Dell XPS m1730, popular for winning the CNET's Editor's Choice and Reader's Choice awards.

All of these PC's feature a Blu-ray HD drive and are all based on GeForce GPUs with PureVideo HD technology, which provides outstanding visual quality and stutter-free performance during Blu-ray and DVD playback.

This news is very important as notebook PC manufacturers are slowly integrating Blu-Ray drives into their products. After the format wars, and Blu-Ray claiming the victory, manufacturers are on the move to integrate the winning drive to cash in on its victory.
