ASUS Eee Box B202

|

box-b202.jpg
Is the Eee fever going to last for ever? After the success that the tiny Eee PC 700 laptop had this year and after they started selling its bigger brother the Eee PC 900, it was only a matter of time before other Eee products to emerged, such as the eee b202.

Asus Eee Box B202 is a desktop as the picture suggest. It weighs 2.2 pounds and is packing an Intel Atom processor / 945 chipset, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a 80GB hard drive. And, in order to make it run smoother I guess, there's a Linux Based operating system. No news on the price it will retail for, nor on the monitor, which I hope Asus is thinking about as we speak!

Would you buy this Box B202 desktop?

XP available for HP 2133

|

View imageHP 2133 Mini-Note is a slick PC released on April 4th. Is it a direct answer to ASUS EEE, which was a huge hit all over the world?

Sure it is, with customizable configurations starting from 1.0Ghz CPU, 512MB RAM, 4GB SSD Hard Drive, SuSE LED 10 to the top of their class at 1.6Ghz CPU, 2GB RAM, 120GB 7200 Hard Drive, Vista Business. The ASUS Eee PC 900 is also available for $550, but they can't say they have that many versions.

HP 2133 is now available in about 8 versions with prices ranging from $500 to $800. And they have one important upgrade, which can be selected when buying a Mini-Note. That is, drums rolling, the option to downgrade to XP instead of the very useful and original annoying Windows Vista.

Why T-Mobile Wins Awards?

|

t-mobile-mda-pro.jpg
J.D Power and Associates have just awarded another first prize to T-Mobile after a survey of wireless retail sales satisfaction. T-Mobile have surpassed Allttell, Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint Nextel. Their score was based on four categories: sales staff, store display, store facility and price/promotion. Although "just" forth carrier ranked by number of total subscribers, T-Mobile is used to winning awards from J.D Power. Their current record in customer service satisfaction is 7 wins in a row, with the last one earlier this year.

T-Mobile has just a little over 30 million subscribers. They have just launched their 3G plans in New York a few days ago, and rumors say they are going to make a bid for Sprint Nextel in the future. Not to mention their wide cell phone selection or plans. No wonder people are saying they are the coolest.

ASUS Eee PC 4G-XU Notebook

|

green.jpgThe Asus Eee PC 4G-XU Notebook, one of the most successful sub notebook computers designed by Asus, and probably the one that started the hype for subnotebook computers now comes in 3 different colors. For those users always on the lookout for new styles, new skins, this is going to be great news. As seen in the picture, the ASUS Eee PC 4G-XU will now come in colors of pastel blue, pastel green and pastel pink. Really, I'm not into colorful gadgets, I'm more of a black/white/gray sleek-device type of guy, so I leave it up to those who like it to decide.

Join a Bank, Get a Free Asus Eee PC

|

eee-pc-image.jpg
That's right, the laptop is given for free. Of course terms and conditions may apply but you can indeed get the 2GB Asus Eee PC 700 when you switch to a bank's checking account.

You have to be Canadian (sorry everyone) in order to get this deal. And you would have to contact your local RBC Royal Bank branch to go through the necessary steps in order to get this free computer. I actually wonder what the catch is for them to afford buying as many laptops, each one worth $300. I am sure they will get their money back from their future customers right?

Nevertheless this is a good marketing idea. Offering an Asus Eee PC is so much more than offering a $25 gift card. I wonder where this innovative idea lead to, in terms of bank services. Who's going to be the first bank to offer a free iPhone?

Rumored: Asus Eee PC to Go to 11 Inch

|

Asus have created the Eee PC, a laptop designed to be highly portable, useful and cheap. Although I'd see the Eee as backup to any real computer or notebook I'd own, I have to admit it's a very interesting and challenging concept.

After the 7 inch version they have released the Eee PC 900 and it's rumored they are getting ready to launch an 11 inch version of this bestseller laptop by the end of this year. We don't have any details but I am certain they will have tp add extra features to make it a decent competitor of laptops like the Lenovo IdeaPad U110 I showed you before.

I am also interested in what the new Eee will go for. Instead of the 9 inch you'd be better off with any 15 inch laptop for the same price. The 11 inch Eee PC will be even higher priced I am sure, and I predict you could be way better off with a 15 inch Asus laptop instead. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

I wonder how the announced Eee TV (E-TV), Eee desktop (E-DT), and Eee monitor are going to be like and if Eee will become a stronger and more envied brand.

Dell to Launch Environment Friendly PC

|

1dell_ultra_small_desktop.jpg
I am on an environmental writing spree today and after telling you all about the new Credo accessories I simply have to show you what Dell has in store for its buyers. The picture above is the eco-friendly PC which is said to be 70% less energy consumer and 81% smaller than a mini tower Dell PC (but bigger than the Asus EEE). Michael Dell says about it: "These are important issues. When you think about our industry, we produce 260 million computers a year. There's a responsibility that comes with that."

It's only logical for Dell to invest more and more in electronics, specifically in laptops and desktops, meant to reduce overall energy consumption. Further more whether you own one of their products or not, you can be part of this ecological movement by joining one of their programs: "Plant a Tree for Me" (for private buyers) or "Plant a Forest for Me," (for companies).
