KDDi Corporation has unveiled a new mobile phone for the summer hoping that many will subscribe to their Smart Sports Run and Walk service.

Toshiba's Sportio, a handset that features an acceleration sensor and GPS, keeps track of how many steps you take, how far you have gone, and how many calories you used up in its Calorie Counter mode.

Place it in Beat Run mode and you can compose music by jogging to special tracks. The phone features a 2.2-inch TFT (240 x 320), a 2 Megapixel camera, and a 1 Seg Tuner. Available in orange or red, the Sportio is also Bluetooth capable so you can take it with you wherever you go.

Toshiba To Release Four 128-Gbyte SSD Notebooks

Toshiba announced four new members of its "dynabook SS RX" series, all of which contain 128 GB SSD NAND flash memory storage capacities. These are the models RX1/TAE to be sold in retail outlets, RX1/W9E for online sales, and SE120E/2W and TE120E/2W for business use. The Toshiba RX1/W9E is first to be released by March 25, while the other will follow suite by mid-April. The notebooks models vary in model, but they'll all run on 1.20 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo U7600. As of now we only know the price of the RX1/W9E (US$4,237) and SE120E/2W (US$5,200) models.

SoftBank 815T PB 3G Mecha Phone

Oh lordy. I'm not big on mecha (that's robot for you, who don't know what mecha is), but I've had my share of it. And now, Softbank has come up with every mecha geek's ultimate dream -- a mecha-phone called the SoftBank 815T PB by Toshiba. The new SoftBank 815T PB model comes in two different versions as you can see on the pic -- the Silver X07 and the Blach X01. Aside from 3G capability, this phone features a 2.4-inch QVGA TFT LCD with 0.8 in monochrome OLED subdisplay, 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus, 14 MB built-in memory, and a microSD card slot expandable up to 2GB. Other features include "Buddy Talk" which lets you communicate with your phone as it displays a variety of expressions:

...and "Mobile Story," a card type battle RPG. Of course, as mentioned, these phones can transform into mecha-like bots with movable limbs. The SoftBank 815T PB phone will be available in Japan by April 2008. Check out the phones in their tame, unaltered state after the jump.

Emobile H11T Clamshell Phone by Toshiba for Japan

Along with the Emobile HTC S11HT, the Japanese mobile network is also releasing the Emobile H11T, a clamshell phone by Toshiba. The Toshiba H11T has a 400 x 240 resolution LCD display, with a monochrome OLED sub-display of 96 x 39 resolution. It measures 50 x 104 x 17.9mm and weighs 130g. It features a 3.2-megapixel camera and 1-Seg TV tuner. The Emobile Toshiba H11T phone will be available for pre-order staring March 1, 2008 and will retail for approximately US$540.

Toshiba Portege G450

It was only last month when we presented a spy pic of the Toshiba Portege G450. This February, Toshiba has officially announced the device. The Toshiba Portege G450 was designed with the quick internet access in mind. As was previously mentioned, the Toshiba Portege G450 is a (very bare) phone and modem in one. It's even an MP3 player. The device can can be connected to your UMPCs, laptops, or notebooks via USB and can support both GPRS/EDGE and 3G capability with HSDPA. It has 160MB of built-in memory and a very basic 96x39 pixel resolution OLED display. The Toshiba Portege G450 measures 98x36x16mm, weighs 16g, and will be available in black, white and red.

Toshiba Portege G710 Smartphone

After the announcement in Milan, Italy last month, Toshiba has unveiled more specs about the Toshiba Portege G710 smartphone. The Toshiba Portege G710 has a QVGA display with integrated QWERTY keyboard, built-in GPS, and a 2-megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom. The smartphone which runs on Windows Mobile 6 has Bluetooth 1.2 and USB 1.1 connectivity, multimedia player, and a microSD card slot for up to 2GB cards. The Toshiba Portege G710 Smartphone which measures 115 ?62 x13 mm and weighs 130 grams, will be released March or April of 2008.

Last December, Toshiba G910 was approved by the FCC. This February, the company officially introduced the Toshiba Portege G910 communicator. The Toshiba Portege G910, is in the form of a mini-notebook. One of its main attractions is its user-identification, biometric fingerprint scanner. The Toshiba Portege G910 features a 3" LCD touch screen with 800x480 pixel resolution, 2-megapixel camera, a built-in GPS module using Qualcomm gpsOneXTRA, a multimedia player, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The device runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional. The Toshiba Portege G910 will start shipping on March or April 2008.

Toshiba has met the Mobile World Congress with its Toshiba Portege G810 GPS Communicator. The Toshiba Portege G810 runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and has 3G functionality (although it also has GPRS/EDGE capability) with HSDPA/HSUPA support. It boasts 2.8" QVGA LCD touch display, 3-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot of up to 4GB capacity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g, FM radio, built-in GPS receiver supporting A-GPS, and Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 connectivity. The Toshiba Portege G810 will be available in Europe on Q2 2008.

Toshiba W61T: A Mobile Phone for the Sporty

The handphone Toshiba W61T was designed with the sporty people in mind. The model is included in the 2008 line of phones by KDDI Japan. The Toshiba W61T has the AU Smart Sports function which could monitor your workout or serve as a pacemaker. The 50 x 98 x 18.9 mm handset features 2.8-inch QVGA OLED screen, 3.24 megapixel CMOS camera, microSD slot capacity of up to 2GB, high-quality VGA movie recording capacity, FM radion, and USB functionality among others. Not bad for a phone which is lacking in the aesthetics department.

Toshiba Portege G450: A Modem and a Phone in One

Along with the Toshiba Portege G710, Toshiba also announced the new Portege G450. The Portege G450 is primarily a modem. Simply connect this with your computer and you can connect via 3G/HSDPA network or via EDGE or GPRS connections. Pop the USB connection off and voila! You got a very basic GPRS cell phone which you can use. It measures 98 x 36 x 16 mm, weighs 56g and features 160MB memory, 180 minute talk time and an integrate MP3 player. The device will supposedly launch on May 2008 with a price tag of US$292.

Toshiba Announces Toshiba Portege G710

Toshiba announced the new Portege G710, a Windows mobile smartphone in Milan, Italy. The device features a 2.46" TFT screen, a full QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth and microSD memory card slot. The Toshiba Portege G710 also comes with integrated GPS and GSM/EDGE but no WiFi, at least, that's what we've found out. And of course, no 3G. There's not much else known about the device yet, but it will supposedly sell with a MSRP of US$440.

Toshiba Digital Products has used the CES 2008 as a premise to announce its newest laptop, the Qosmio G45-AV690, the world's first notebook to feature HD-DVD-R/RW optical drive, with five HD blockbuster movies thrown in for good measure.

The stylish Qosmio G45-AV690 comes in a piano key-white finish and brags of a stunning 17-inch widescreen display with Ultimate TruBrite technology, which delivers a full HD 1080p experience. Ulead DVD MovieFactory is the choice of application for editing both HD and standard-definition home videos to create high-quality family movies. Also included is an OpenCable HDTV tuner for viewing and recording high definition and analog TV signals. The built-in HDMI output can send HD video to a 1080p HDTV complete with 5.1 channel digital audio.

The Qosmio G45 is also blessed with a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 512MB GDDR2 and can be regarded as a mid-range gaming laptop.

Toshiba G920 and G910 FCC Approved

While details are somewhat scarce, Toshiba's latest entries in the smart phone world have recently passed through the FCC which left us with some pictures and specs for your viewing pleasure. As of now you can't really tell the Portege G910 from the Portege G920 as they look similar and have similar specs. Those specs include; GSM 900/1800/1900, WCDMA, Bluetooth, WLAN , USB 2.0, rear camera with flash, front camera for video calls, 3? display, 1320 mAh Li-ion battery, and a microSD memory card slot. The operating system is none other than Windows Mobile 6.

Toshiba has a new cell phone for Japan called the Toshiba 920T, it is a 3G mobile that supports 5.3 hours of recording time and features 1GB of memory, GPS, 3.24MP Camera and 1 Seg for mobile.

Toshiba’s baby 908A is similar to its Japanese brother 813T manufactured by Japanese Softbank (also made by Toshiba). The cell phone looks elegant with its mirror coated front finish and gives a sense of superiority.

A PC Site Browser is loaded in the phone for quick and anytime, anywhere browsing. Thanks to its Pop-up Mail option for efficient Email sending/receiving that makes its easier to delete unwanted or spam mails without opening.

sb16.gifSoftBank Mobilecorporation announced the release of its Toshiba 912T mobile phones. It measures approximately 104×50×17mm (vertical × side × thickness), and weighs approximately 136g.

The SoftBank 912T clamshell is built-in with a 2.8-inch QVGA 260k color LCD display, a 3.2 Megapixel camera. The 912T is just 16.9mm thick and features Bluetooth 2.0 and a microSD card slot for expansion.

The phone also comes with HSDPA support and GPS navigation utility. SoftBank 912T gives support to also the FeLica and numerous Yahoo Japan services. Presently the latest 912T can be had in 7 colors (silver, black, white, blue, plum, champagne and green). This colorful stable is included with something for pretty much everyone.

Despite the body's super–slim 16mm, the large frameless key buttons are easy to press, making the handset a breeze to operate. Functions such as "Pop–up Mail" and "Refer Reply" are provided, for even simpler Email functionality.

Toshiba unveiled the new WX320T cell phone featuring a large 2.4" QVGA LCD display and long-life battery. The PHS (Personal Handyphone System) terminal comes with an integrated antenna and is compliant with advanced W-OAM audio terminal and 4x packet transmission modes.

The browser is equipped with NetFront browser (my personal favorite), and comes with document viewer (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF). For business users, it's also got an IC recorder function.

The PHS terminal takes in microSD memory cards for expansion, as well as a 1.3 megapixel camera. It is compatible with MIDP 2.0 for Java games and apps.

The folks over at the FCC have a new Toshiba toy that they seem pleased with: the Satellite RG4-E02 Pocket PC. Featuring a slide-out QWERTY keypad, the RG4-E02 boasts WLAN, miniSD slot for expanding memory and a camera.

The phone is compatible with 3G network services where available, as well as EDGE and GPRS. Being a Pocket PC phone, you get Pocket Outlook for email (POP3/IMAP4 supported), apart from standard SMS/MMS Inbox.

There's also an IM client in the form of Windows Live Messenger. Thanks to Transcriber, your handwritten input gets converted into text - making it easier to send messages. For security, there's even fingerprint recognition onboard.

No word on the pricing yet, but thanks to the FCC clearance, we should see it on the market soon.

Available in funky colors like silver and pink, the TS605 is targeted at Gen X and includes features like; 1.3M camera with x8 digital zoom,1.93-inch screen, Bluetooth, FM radio, and video recording. No word on pricing or availability.

Check out the new Toshiba Portege G500 mobile phone, which features a slider form factor and a large front display screen. This phone is perfect for both work and play, combining e-mail, internet access, phone, and an MP3 player all on a Windows Mobile 5.0 platform.

Other features of the phone include a 2-megapixel camera, direct push email, secondary camera for video calls, music playback, and support for VoIP. Toshiba RG4-E01 Smartphone USA Bound

Checkout this tasty new treat from Toshiba- the RG4-E01 smartphone! For now we're just getting a little bit of a teaser, but it won't be long until we can get a good, long look at it when its shown off at the 3GSM show coming up in just a couple days!

The RG4 is a slider smartphone which features HSDPA and a 2 megapixel camera, as well as Bluetooth (inc. A2DP). It also has a gerat 65k color screen. Rumor has it this phone will be available through Vodaphone, with previews of it at 3GSM in Barcelona.
