SoftBank 813SH 3G Phone

Check out the new SoftBank 813SH 3G phone by Sharp. This phone does not sport a camera - and is primarily intended for use in locations where cameraphones are banned due to security restrictions. You don't want anyone with a camera snooping around in your Government's secret service agency, would you?

The SoftBank 813SH features dual display, and the outer display can display up to 3 lines of new incoming email - quite a nice feature. The 3G phone also features a full fledged browser and can open PDF files. The phone is available in Matte Black and Pearl White, weighing in at 104 grams.

Sharp to Sell iPhones in China Before Olympics

|

sharp_logo.jpegSharp Corporation of Japan decided to branch out after its disappointing sales performance as it faced difficulties in trying to compete with low-priced Nokia phones. Sharp, however, decided to take a different approach and target the high-end market, plunging into growing economies such as China. Sharp will now be the only Japanese firm selling handsets in Korea since fellow Japanese company, Kyocera, withdrew from the market. The start of sales is projected to be on June, 2008, before the Beijing Olympics begin.

Sharp FOMA SH705iII Cell Phone for DoCoMo

|

Sharp%20FOMA%20SH705iIIa.jpg
Just taking a look at this phone tells me where it's from. Judging by the box-ish clamshell look it shares with just about every other phone in the land, I'd know the new Sharp FOMA SH705iII Cell Phone is for Japan. The new Sharp FOMA SH705iII has a 2.8-inch Sharp FOMA SH705iII 400 x 240 resolution TFT screen, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 0.8-inch 96 x 39 resolution monochromatic OLED display, a microSD card slot, and 1-Seg TV tuner. Based on what I see, the Sharp FOMA SH705iII phone which will be an exclusive DoCoMo device, looks better than a lot of its contemporaries. Still, I wish a Japanese phone would break tradition and have an entirely different design.

Sharp's Sidekick 4 aka Shuriken Mobile Phone

|

Everyone has waited for the Sidekick 4 AKA the Shuriken for quite some time now. The Sidekick is going to be the true successor to the Sidekick 3, as opposed to some tangential compromise like the Sidekick iD. There has been rumors about the design and features of the Sidekick 4 that I'm sure all of you out there won't pass up.

If these rumors spread around is correct, then the Sidekick 4 will have a wide screen that fills out the entire middle section of the device. It would probably still have the same set (and face) of buttons as the Sidekick 3. It would also feature a 1.3 megapixel camera and a MicroSD slot.

Aside from that, early reports indicated that the Sidekick 4 has been assigned the model number "PV250," way above the Sidekick 3's "PV200," which means that the Shuriken will be the next generation Sidekick that everyone should get excited about.

With the confidentiality agreement in place until April, we might not find out the carrier and other details for a little while yet. All we know right now is that Sharp is making it. It has been rumored in recent months that Danger may take its cool and easy-to-use operating system to not only other carriers, but possibly also other phone manufacturers.
