Just moments after finding out that the Palm Pre was tracking you, Palm has pulled another move that is sure to have some people shaking their fists in anger. Reportedly, they company has set their sights on the creators of the Palm Pre Android Theme that does just that, reskins your Android UI to look like a Palm Pre.

Of course, we can’t get too mad at Palm about this considering the graphics used in the Android theme were taken straight out of webOS, in other words they were copyrighted. Luckily, Palm has no intentions to lay down the law any further if the makers of said theme without hostility.

This device features a Qualcomm 528MHz processor, 3.6-inch touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard, 3.2MP camera with auto focus, GPS, WiFI, a microSDHC slot and Windows Mobile 6.1 with TouchFLO 3D.

  • If recent rumors are to be believed, Apple may once again be moving into another market. This time? Online transactions.

These rumors suggest that Apple is planning on turning iTunes into a PayPal competitor for use with products made by other companies. This would add to the fact that users can already purchase virtual items and subscriptions from App Store developers.

Take this rumor with a grain of salt until we hear an official announcement because as of now, they are far from confirmed.

  • iPhone finally coming to china?

While the rest of the world has been enjoying their iPhones for some time now, consumers in China have been stuck dealing with alternatives as the handset has yet to legally make its way to their shores.

Luckily, documents have been revealed that show a GSM/WCDMA iPhone being passed through China’s SRRC (think Chinese FCC). The model number of the phone is reportedly A1324 and will ship with Bluetooth capabilities and no WiFi to be seen.

The approval date was apparanlty May 7th, 2009 so we may see iPhones appearing on Chinese carriers sooner than we though.

Alternatively you can punch in an address (or add one from your contacts) and it will show sex offenders around that location.

  • We’ve been hearing about this handset for a long time but it seems RIM has finally decided its time to let the BlackBerry Curve 8520 out of the bag.

This phone will officially feature a 320 x 240 resolution display, 2MP camera with video capture, WiFi, a track pad in place of the iconic track ball and the ability to sync up with Macs right out of the box. This is probably thanks to the Mac version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager that we heard about not too long ago.

Better yet, RIM has also us know that those rumors of the 8520 coming to T-Mobile were true as the phone will officially drop on said carrier August 5th for $129.99.

HTC Has Four Videos for the Hero

The Hero is one of the best Android phones HTC has made so far if not the best. Or at least that’s the general impression so far. And HTC has decided to launch four new videos which describe most of the features of the Hero. Too bad T-Mobile is not going to launch this phone anytime soon. But we’re definitely hoping that Sprint will decide to make it available sometime soon. In the mean time you have 8 minutes of total video time to enjoy. Hit the break for the other three clips!

The Omnia II is a Windows Mobile powered handset that features a touchscreen 3.7-inch AMOLED display, an 800MHz processor, 5MP camera with 720 x 480 video recording and a 7.2Mbps HSPA.

We’re not positive when it will actually be made available for purchase but considering the FCC model is specced for AT&T, I think it’s safe to say we’ll see the phone on said carrier soon enough.

  • The latest rumor concerning the future generation of Apple iPod touch players says that the new devices will be packing both a camera and a microphone. That means the future iPod touch will be almost similar to the iPhone. All you need to make calls to your friends is to install a VoIP service on your iPod and get some decent WiFi coverage. Does that sound a little bit scary to carriers?

The new units are currently being manufactured by Chinese contractors and they are said to be available sometime in the following two to three months. There’s no indication regarding any other changes but we’ll keep you in the loop as soon as we find out more about the new iPod touch.
