If Apple resellers are to be believed, the current generation of iPods are being discounted and retailers are being urged to deplete their stock to make way for new models. While this hasn’t been officially confirmed, we’ve had tons of evidence to support the fact that Apple is gearing up to launch a line of iPod nanos and touches that feature a digital camera.
Those looking to purchase a new iPod may want to hold off until September 8th when Apple is expected to make an announcement.

What you see above is SendStation’s latest iPod dock entitled the PocketDock Line Out Mini USB. As you can see, this thing isn’t much bigger than a penny but includes a few highly sought after features.
First and foremost, it features a mini USB port for use with charging so you can do away with the Apple’s proprietary charging cable. Additionally, the dock has a 3.5mm headphone jack that reportedly makes for better quality sound when used with an amplified device.
SendStation’s PocketDock Line Out Mini USB iPod dock is available now for $29.95.

Way back in May of ‘07 we were given a glimpse of the extremely simple, designed for seniors, bare basic Jitterbug handset. The device featured only 3 control buttons to make the whole thing as easy as possible.
Now, the Jitterbug J has recently hit the scene for Verizon Wireless. As you can see, it does away with the 3 button control and opts for a more conventional number pad.
Of course, this phone isn’t as feature extensive as say an iPhone, but it’ll get the job done if you’re looking for the basics.

One of the key features the iPhone has (even if you under appreciate it) is visual voicemail. Several other handset manufacturers included the feature with their phone but RIM generally left the BlackBerry Bold in the dark.
Luckily, the feature has recently gone live although the OS update that is supposed to bring the feature, doesn’t go live until Tusday.
BGR says that if you notice a visual voice mail icon on your BlackBerry Bold, all you have to do is call AT&T and ask them to active it. Sounds easy enough, right?

We’ve seen how everyone responded to the FCC regarding the rejection of Google’s Google Voice from the App Store. And nobody is to blame. AT&T hasn’t done anything wrong and neither did Apple. But how does Apple really approve all those apps?
Well it looks like Apple is receiving about 8,500 apps per week and there are 40 people responsible for checking out every app. And every app has to be reviewed by two people. That means an average Joe-in-charge-of approval will check out over 200 apps per week or over 40 per day. That’s over 5 apps per hour. Oh but wait a minute, each app has to be approved by a second person so that means each Apple employee does over 400 apps per week. Or over 10 apps per hour. Not counting overtime of course!
But for the special apps out there, Apple has an App Store “executive review board” which will deal with apps that present various problems. Such as Google Voice for example.
So if you have an app ready for the app store, you’ll have to know that Apple’s personnel will check your app for buggy software, apps that crash, unauthorized API, privacy violation, inappropriate content and everything that “degrades the core experience for iPhone.”
And if you have any problems with the way Apple is managing its App Store then here’s what Apple could respond to you:
We’re covering new ground and doing things that had never been done before. Many of the issues we face are difficult and new, and while we may make occasional mistakes, we try to learn from them and continually improve.
So what would you say it’s happening right now with Google Voice? Is the special commission still reviewing it?

Nokia has come forward to announce the 5800 Navigation Edition, pictured above. This device is obviously marketed towards those who like to know where they are, and how to get where they are going at all times.
The 5800 Navigation Edition will come with Ovi Maps software pre-installed along with lifetime licenses for turn-by-turn voice guided directions. Included in the bundle is a car mount and car charge. which is nice, because if you’d probably end up buying those anyways.
Nokia has released a video showcasing the 5800 Navigation Edition’s capabilities which we’ve included for you after the break. Also, the handset maker has said that the device will ship to retail in Q3 of this year for around $400.

It seems that Duracell, a company once known primarily for making batteries, is increasing their offerings with the above wireless charging pad. If you’re familiar with the Palm Pre’s Touchstone, this is essentially the same deal. All you do is purchase a Power Sleeve/Power Clip and attach it to your device before putting it onto the myGrid wireless charging pad for easy charging.
Duracell says that adapters for popular handsets from manufacturers such as Apple, BlackBerry, Motorola and Nokia will be made available when their wireless charging pad goes on sale.

We have good news for you Sprint customers! The Hero, the latest Android phone made by HTC and probably the hottest Android handset available so far, has been approved by the FCC. Does that mean Sprint will launch it soon? We certainly hope so.
The Hero approved by the FCC comes with CDMA/EV-DO support so unless Verizon decides to also sell the phone then we can safely say Sprint will be the designated carrier.
Unfortunately we don’t have any launch dates and price tags just yet but we’ll be waiting in the shadows for Mr. Hesse’s employees to make some sort of official announcement in the near future.

Back in February we notified you of a Garmin-Asus branded handset called the nuvifone M20. At that time there was no word of US availability and today, that remains the same.
The nuvifone M20 has, however, hit Taiwanese carrier Chunghwa and is to feature Windows Mobile, a VGA display, 3MP camera, HSDPA and all sorts of turn-by-turn GPS features (hey, it is Garmin, after all).
Despite its mediocracy, I’m sure at least a handful of American consumers would take to it if/when Garmin and Asus get around to releasing it here.

What you see above is Nokia’s Maemo N900 tablet/mobile phone, if that even makes sense. The picture comes to us from mobile-review who also took the time to completely break down just about every aspect of the actual device.
Spec wise, we’re lookin’ at 32GB of internal storage, ARM Cortex-A8 CPU, microSD slot, microUSB port and TV-out. That’s about all we know about Nokia’s Maemo N900 as the device they got their hands on was just a prototype and not the final product.
We’ll keep you posted as more news regarding this device surfaces.

What you see here is Suzuki’s (not the automaker) 701 MNI netbook that was recently announced. Under the hood this device will feature an Intel Atom processor, up to 4GB of RAM, 3 USB ports, a VGA Port, Expresscard slot, WiFi, 56k modem, 5-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth and WiFi.
The thing that makes this netbook worth your time is its 7″ swivel display that also features a touchscreen. Unfortunately there was no mention of a price or release window for Suzuki’s 701 MNI netbook.

What you see above are SoftBank BB’s Japan Texture iPhone cases, as you can see they aren’t made out of gold (although they are covered in gold dust), they don’t have money hidden in them and there are no diamonds, they do, however, cost $1,000.
Each case is reportedly hand crafted (in 3-4 weeks) and includes references to various historical happenings of Japanese culture. Not to mention they look freakin’ sweet.
Then again, would you really want a case that costs more than the phone it’s protecting?

What you see above is supposedly a shot of the next generation iPod touch that is rumored to be supporting a built-in camera sat next to a last generation iPod touch.
As you can see, the camera is in the same exact spot that the cases spotted earlier today showed it to be. We’re not exactly sure why the back of the device is ridiculously scratched or if this is the handwork of a Photoshop-smith. Either or, chances are we are going to hear about the next gen iPod touch next month so we’ll have to wait until then to see if these photos are real.
Click through to check out a high-res close up of the device’s camera below.

Last month we notified you of a phone that HTC was said to be working on codenamed the Leo. Today we bring you two renders that are supposedly of the HTC Leo.
Several things make these shots generally unbelievable, first of all it has a Pro.Three branding on the back which doesn’t make sense considering HTC has always included a QWERTY keyboard with their Pro offerings. Second of all, there is a block of text under the Pro.Three branding that is nothing more than filler text (lorem ipsum, etc.).
So while our source seems pretty confident that these are actual pictures of the device, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation until we put any stock in this one.

What you see above is reportedly a picture included in an e-mail that was sent out to Zune HD followers notifying them that the device is up for pre-order. While the picture isn’t of the highest resolution, it’s quite evident that there are several different colors to choose from, including ones we hadn’t seen before; red, green and blue added onto the previously known black and silver.
There hasn’t exactly been official confirmation on this, but it seems pretty legit. Perhaps we’ll have to wait until September 18th to know for sure.
