Samsung announced today the unveiling of the YP-VX1, a voice recorder. The YP-VX1 has more than just voice recording with MP3 playback and ID3 support, as well as the company’s DNSe sound enhancement technology.
Chances are, it will probably only have a Korean release, so don’t expect to get your hands on one unless you live there, and there is no word on pricing or availability.

(Insert music from Apple iPhone Commercial here) What if you want to start your car, turn on the heat in your car, unlock the doors, unlock the trunk, or turn the alarm on or off?
There’s an app for that. In this case, it is the Viper SmartStart. The app is free, but you have to install the hardware module in the car yourself. However, you can do all the aforementioned things from anywhere as this module is connected to your iPhone via the cellular network.
Okay, now my car keys are on my iPhone. This is going to be the standard of things to come, right?

For those who have ever received a ticket in the mail for running a red light, this next product is for you. Yes, they have the technology to take your picture, and now you have the technology to beat it.
The Right Light Camera Detector is exactly what it says it is: a device that detects red lights. I realize that it bears a strong resemblance to a GPS device, but it won’t help you get to where you want to go unless you are willing to run a few red lights along the way. It does have a GPS chip that will compare your automobile’s location with that of an internal database of up to 6,000 red light and speed camera locations.
You might ask if this is worth $200, and so am I.

Acer’s NVIDIA Ion LE Powered AspireRevo nettop was recently spotted on Newegg for just $200. You may or may not be familiar with this nettop as it’s been around for a while minus the NVIDIA Ion LE graphics card.
This Ion LE card coupled with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive make for one of the most affordable ways to view 1080p video content. However, Gizmodo makes note that Adobe Flash isn’t completely optimized for the Ion LE, you may run into problems streaming flash video from sites such as Hulu and YouTube.

Yahoo has long been one of the most used search engines out there but compared to Google it’s ages behind. However, the search engine company has recently launched its new homepage which is expected to turn the website around, or so CEO Carol Bartz hopes.
The new web portal will allow users to integrate online services such as Hotmail and Facebook which Yahoo hopes will increase revenue and give the website’s traffic a boost. In turn, Yahoo thinks that by letting users include such content in the main page they will be able to view their entire “life on the internet” at one page, rather than several.
Will this new campaign work? Only time will tell.

H17 is the codename of the new headset produced by Motorola, which will be available for purchase in the near future, for an unknown price so far. This is the smallest and lightest headset in the Motorola product line, and its style makes it look pretty good.
Thanks to the RapidConnect function, users can easily answer a call by flipping the switch - just that. The H17 is able to inform users when the battery is low, and then the sound is mute. Additionally, the CrystalTalk function makes the talks clearer then ever before, thanks to the noice-cancellation technology. The battery system seems pretty good, taking in consideration that charging the device for 15 minutes is the same as 2 hours of battery life.
Check more details at the official Motorola website.

If the above supposedly leaked release list is to be believed, we may be seeing a plethora of Windows Mobile powered phones hitting AT&T at various points in the none too distant future.
It seems that in October we will be seeing the HTC Fortress and Samsung Epix while November and December will debut the LG Monoco and HP Obsidian, respectively. Now while it doesn’t actually state it, I think it is to be assumed that they will all be running Windows Mobile 6.5 and not an earlier version (as if I even had to tell you).

The HTC Hero (which is available for pre-order at BestBuy) just received a firmware upgrade which is suppose to make it faster, much faster. Previously, the cellphone used to get stuck or take too long while making use of specific software, but with the new firmware that slowness will vanish.
This firmware version is also known as 2.73.405.5 and it isn’t available worldwide, at least for now. Denmark was one of the few countries picked for the launch, while the others will have to wait a few more days/weeks. Keep checking your national HTC site for updates.

It seems that we have evidence to support the rumor that Palm is gearing up to launch their webOS touting Eos sometime next month. According to TechCrunch, Palm will unveil the phone sometime next week in leiu of Fashion Week.
This would somewhat make sense since the Eos is said to feature a low price and sleek design. Either way, we won’t know if this phone even exists (although we do have some proof) until Palm makes an official announcement. We’ll keep you posted.
