For whatever reason, man has started to make smaller and smaller things. When it comes to electronics and gadgets that’s a good thing. Smaller means easier to carry around, easier to use at all times. It also leads to efficiency as better time management as one would be able to perform his duties at any time.
After I showed you a Wester Digital external HDD that can easily be added to your key chain, now we have a flash memory which can get lost in your coins jar. When I think of memory solutions, I think SanDisk even if there are others out there quite as good or better. They have announced today the availability of SanDisk Mobile Ultra, microSD, microSDHC and Memory Stick Micro (M2) flash mobile memory cards. They come in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB depending on your needs. SanDisk will enhance your smartphone’s performance by allowing you to add more memory space for your documents, maps, videos and music. And they look good.
But what I like most is the extra MobileMateâ„¢ Micro Reader that plugs directly into your USB 2.0. Just plug your microSD in and then your new stick goes into your USB for fast download. Oh yeah, that’s what I almost forgot. Download and upload speeds have been significantly improved or so they say.
Tell me if you find it anywhere for a price lower than their suggested $119.99.

I like how this Western Digital My Passport Studio looks near those keys. It’s so tiny but it will pack and backup all your information. Take your music, videos and games wherever you are going. The only problems seems to be not loosing it.
Although slightly bigger than your USB stick, the Studio packs up to 320GB storage space and has both USB and Firewire integrated slots. You only need a processor and some RAM and you’re going to have a small PC there.
Depending on size and seller, you’ll find this external HDD for purchase from $200 to $400.

There are already lots of mobile speaker systems, but one more won’t hurt, especially from the likes of Logitech. Solely aimed at Bluetooth-enabled cell phones, the Pure-Fi Mobile Speaker system works within the range of 33 feet and can be used with the A2DP profile available on most music-oriented phones. A2DP support also means that the system can double as a speakerphone, courtesy of two integrated microphones of which one is used to pick your voice up and the other is for noise cancellation. All this is made much more easier with the controls onboard for answering/ending calls, virtually eliminating the need for you to have your mobile by side. As for music, the Pure-Fi is equipped with 2-inch high-excursion drivers and 2-inch pressure drivers x2 to provide a smooth treble and articulate bass for any song that you fancy blasting out.
The Logitech Pure-Fi Mobile Speaker system is expected to land stateside in June with an approximate price tag of $149.99.

I like the idea of a touch screen phone. It gives you more control and everything is more reachable. You can go through the menu faster and get things done more efficiently when you’re on the go.
I like the idea of the touch iPhone even more. But if I was to chose between using my fingers or using a stylus I’d choose a stylus. Sure I’d miss out on a few things only fingers can do but a stylus could be more precise.

Akhibara News got a chance to play around with the smallest Vista-toting UMPC, the D4 from Willcom, which is based on Sharp’s WS016SH. The MID has a slide-out keyboard and a 5-inch touchscreen, good enough to watch OneSeg digital TV available in Japan. Akhibara come out feeling satisfied about the device, albeit the 1.33GHz Centrino Atom proved a bit too slow to handle Vista Home Premium, but given that it was only an almost ready prototype they were testing, there might be a few changes to solve this issue. With 1GB of RAM, 40GB HDD, and a 2-megapixel camera, there is also WiFi, Bluetooth, and mini-USB completing its connectivity options.
The Willcom D4 is set for a release in the second quarter of 2008. No price details are available yet. Go ahead and take a look at the video after the break.

We have gone through (already) the Eee PC 700 and the Eee 900. Eee lines are going to be created for desktops and monitors. Asus isn’t fooling around, are they?
The new Eee PC 901 is the new 900 version. It’s still an 8.9 inch cheap laptop which will be released on June 3rd and sold for less than $650. The new Asus will have an Atom Intel chipset (cool, right?),
Bluetooth, and some metal parts added to the keyboard, hinge and to the border of the touchpad. Furthermore, Linux operated 901 will have more applications added to them.
One more important change is the brand name. Asus puts their fate in the Eee and its future so the 901 will feature an Eee logo instead of the Asusteck logo.
What do you think? I’d still go for the HP 2133 Mini-Note but thats just me!

Apple’s Macbook Air has at least one important problem to solve, and that is overheating. This problem has been reported and I would assume Apple would solve it by the time they launch the next version. Just in case your Air needs more air in order for you to keep doing what you’re doing without any time off for cooling, here’s an external cooler, the Zephyr from Moshi. It might be the world’s slimmest cooler designed for the world’s slimmest laptop.

I had to show you this gadget. Have you ever been in a phone conversation you simply felt you had to record and wasn’t able to do it? Or are you just paranoid and tend to record events from your life, like talking to your mother, girlfriend or boss?
If so, for $18 you can have this Olympus TP-7 microphone that goes in your ear. That means that what you hear gets recorded. Say you have a tumultuous conversation from your landline and you wish you recorded it. Nothing easier with the Olympus TP-7 waiting in your ear. Turn it on and it will record everything you hear. As long as it’s connected to a recorder of any type.
Does this mean you’ll have to wear the microphone at all times as you’ll never know when you’ll have to use it?
